Also before I go Thank you sooo much for all your amazing support.

That is how I am feeling at the moment…Most of you may know that a week ago a very dear friend of mine passed away after an amazing courgaious and heroic fight with cancer….Lisa was and is the most amazing person you could ever wish to be hourned to have in your life…

I spent most of last week keeping myself busy by baking and playing Mother Hen with everyone…I find that when things like this happen I turn into Mother hen with a wooden spoon and mixing bowl always within reach…I was also able to spend time with Lisa when she came home to her sisters house for the days before the funeral…This I will always be grateful for as after days of denial on Friday night I was able to say my good byes and tell her that i will always miss her properly.

On Friday i received a telephone call from the celebrant saying that Ian had asked if i would speak on behalf of the Treasures parenting forum…I was very honoured.  Along with this Ian had also asked me to help out organising the food and everything for afterwards…Everyone seemed to know that I needed to keep busy.  We had close friends of Lisa’s – Tamara her husband Hayden and amazing kids Toby and Jayda come and stay with us Friday through to Sunday and David got on with them like a house on fire…I will have a seperate post about that tomorrow.

Saturday Richard and Hayden took the 2 boys out to Chipmunks in puke and after going to Manukau Tamara and I headed to the School hall to start seting up for after the Funeral.  We drove down our Drive way to find our front doors open…i knew Richard wouldn’t be home as 5 mins before he had been in Puke.  OMG our double wooden doors had been kicked and jimmed in and our big TV was gone.  Luckly nothing else was taken but OMG I never ever want that feeling again.  I filed a report with the Police over the phone and Richard and our neighbour have boarded up our front door and now we are just waiting to hear from the police.  Everything else was still there thankfully…

2 Hours latter it was off to a very memorable Funeral…I was nervous about my speech but I think i did pretty well and now have had a photo of Lisa and I emailed to me so with that along with my speech i will be working on a very special layout this week.

Off to the hall and some of Lisa’s cousin had done 2 muttons and 7 chickens on the spit and their dad had made the most amazing raw fish…It was sooo good…That along with 4-5 tables of other snacks and everyone was well fed.  David found a little battery powered ride on car and he had so much fun driving around the school hall visiting and saying Hi to everyone.  Lisa would have loved it as kids were her life…he ended the night hanging out with the St John’s junior leaders and having a blast…here was a 3 year old having the best time hanging out with 15-19 year olds and they just loved him.

For those of you wanting to scrap over the next little while over at Crafty Tart the DT have just posted their first challenge.  You have until wednesday 25th at midnight to upload your layout…

To get your tastebuds going it is being inspired by Pancakes….

all now that I am now officially a Crafty Tart.  Kate & Michael at Crafty Tart have asked me to be part of their Design Team at Crafty Tart…We have a wonderful team….Hannah, Dallas, Lynne and myself…Way to go girls…Going to be so much fun.  So if you haven’t already been to the blog/forum/shop head on over to www.craftytart.com and have a look.  mmmm got to work on doing links.  We will be setting our first challenge on Friday…

Wahoo I am so excited beyond words….I have been having to keep this secret for a little while now and have been bursting to tell everyone.

I truley can’t believe that it is March already!  I have been sick most of the last 10 days with a tummy bug/food poisoning (still not 100% sure what) to start off with then a day feeling so great and then a total headcold which i am pleased to say I fought and won it going into my chest…Yay for FIL’s homepathic remedies.

It has been a very busy past month…February 14th my little man turned 3.  OMG I can’t believe how fast he is growing…We had a farm yard party the next day which was awesome and I will post pics of this tomorrow.  David is just loving, loving is animals at the moment.

I have been busy organising 2 card drives.  One for my friend Lisa who is fighting a very brave battle with cancer and then also one for the Victims and Families of the Victorian Bush Fires.  The amazing responce from around NZ has been so amazing and will take a pic tomorrow of all the cards received so far…Thank you so much everyone…I also have a wonderful card maker/Scrapbooker in the USA who has steped up wholeheartldly wanting to help as well so will be running her own card drive and then will send these cards over to me….She is amazing.

I have also been working on quite a bit of Scrapbooking which unfortunatly I can’t show you at the moment but hopefully soon.

Today David, Richard and I headed out to the Farm Day out at a Clevedon Farm.  We ended up being the first ones out there…We walked about 3km around the farm and our awesome little man walked a good half of that so after a quick stop for a horse ride and for me to get some supplies at the Farmers Market it was home for a rest then lunch and nap time…David had his photo taken a bit and we have been told to keep an eye out for them on the Farm Day website…

Well must be off but will update tomorrow wit lots of photos.

Week Round up Sunday!

January 25, 2009

Well, unfortunatly did not get around to doing this yesterday so I have called it Week Round Up Sunday!

Firstly thank you for all your wonderful comments over the last week.  The Prize winners will have their prizes sent to them on Tuesday.  I haven’t been feeling 100% so haven’t gotten around to sending them yet.

Sunday was a quiet day for me and David helped Richard and our neighbour do some more building in the morning…ending with a Roast Pork Dinner which was yummy!

The rest of the week was just me hanging out at home, doing housework, working on a present for David’s friend’s 3rd birthday, making an OTP for David’s 2 year old room teacher as at the moment he is transitioning into the 3 year old room.  They go to the 3 year old room in the morning and can either stay there if they wish or come back to the 2 year old room in the afternoon…I can’t believe that my baby is 3 in 3 weeks.  I wanted to make a little something for his main caregiver in the 2 year old room.  I was also trying to find energy to do things…I know there are quite a few people out there who are run down at the moment.

Yesterday we went to David’s friend Grace’s 3rd Birthday and then home…This morning David and I caught the bus up to manukau to go to the libary and left Richard at home to have some time to himself and then a few erands latter we came home on the bus…David loves the bus and going to the libary to get some booooks…When we got home David had kept saying pool pool on the bus so checked with Richard and the 2 of them took off next door to have a swim…An hour latter my 2 boys came home with big smiles on their faces..

If you can all send big hugs and prayers to my friend Lisa….She isn’t doing the best and is in quite a bit of pain and the pain meds don’t seem to be helping much…It has unfortunatly started spreading again…They are down in Queenstown for the weekend which was booked back in November to catch up with the wonderful friends that they made when they were down there….They were nomiatnated for $1.00 airfares and were 1 of the families chosen and have used these to go down….She is just having a very relaxing weekend with great friends…I am playing chef this week and providing them with all their dinners as Lisa doesn’t really have the energy or should be doing much…Unfortunatly she is not able to drive anymore..

Big hugs everyone…
