This morning we had to go to get my hair cut and my hairdresser Kelly had asked earlier if we would like to get David’s hair trimed a bit.  We did but left his lovely curlcs at the back.  I did manage to get a couple of curls to put into his scrapbook.  I am going to a page or 2 over the weekend.  Here are a couple of photos

Will update more tomorrow.  I still have to update about freestyle but have so much on.

I have been Interviewed.

April 23, 2007

I have been interviewed by the wonderful Felted Bag maker and Scrapbooker Mel T

If you want to be interviewed just leave me a message
1. Leave me a comment saying, “Interview me. Make sure I have your email adress”
2. I will respond by emailing you 5 questions. I get to pick the questions.
3. You will update your blog with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

1. If you had to choose 3 foods only to live on for a week what would the be?

I would have to say Water to keep my liquids up, banana’s to keep energy up and cooked rice.

2. Complete this Statement.  I’m so over – all the senseless crime that is happening in this world at the moment.

3. Something i know now that I wished I’d known when I was 20 – You can survive in this world with our every single person that there is liking you.

4. What’s the kindest thing that someone has ever done for you? – Mmm, I have been lucky enough to have lots of kind things be done for me but I would say one of the kindest things would be my best friend at Intermediate who took on an overweight, self conscious, nieve, very sensative girl with no friends on as her best friend the first day we met in class…and looked past everything and liked me for me and what was on the inside and helped me start to become the confident person that I am today.

5. If you had $20,000 to spend on a gift for someone outside your extended family what would you choose and who would you give it to.  – I would have to split it between 2 dear families.  The first being my good friend Nikki P’s neighbour’s who lost their father and husband in a fire last weekend and did not have any insurance.  The second would be for a dear family who i have become friends with and am doing a scrapbook for who’s 3 month old daughter Charlotte Rose passed away on Thursday evening from a condition called Edward’s Syndrome.   I would use this money in her name to be put towards research into this condition that some children are not even born alive with it let alone make it to 3 months of age.

Okay, what else has been happening.  Thanks to the lovely Freestyle laddies especially Tia Bennett and Kim Henkel I am addicted to felt and felting now and am off to purchase some supplies this week.   I am just loving this.

Thank you for your good luck wishes for the Paper Pesto DT Call.  This is a new thing to me and it will be the first time i have ever submitted anything for something like this or even submitted anything….My goal is to have it all finished by the evening of the 02nd.

Whew what a busy week!

April 20, 2007

Long time no blog.  The past week has just been so full on.  Last friday after Janine M picked me up and we headed into the Novotel in Ellerslie for the weekend for Freestyle.  I was doing a mixture of classes and Teacher Help.  Wow, what an amazing weekend.  I am going to write all about Freestyle in a latter post this weekend as I think it totally deserves it’s own post.  Sunday afternoon saw me coming home a few hours early as I finally got it out of Richard that what was just a funny tummy on Saturday had turned into a full out bout of Food poisoning via some chicken for dinner that he had had on Friday night.  Darling man that he is didn’t want to me earlier how bad it had got has he didn’t want to ruin my weekend…What a sweetie…Great news is after going to the afterhours in Papakura on Sunday night and being given some pills to take he is much better.

I will pre warn you now that I have about 4 posts to do on here this weekend so there will be lots of reading for the rest of you.

Monday was a quiet day at home trying to recover from the busy weekend and just catch up on general things around the house.  Tuesday evening I chatted to Michelle T and congratulations Michelle she got through to the 4th round of the Scrapstreet star.  For her fourth round she had to post a challenge do it herself and get a few people to do it for her.  Well I offered my services and came up a very busy layout but one that i am very pleased with.  I will post it once the judging for Michelle has finished for this round.  I am pretty sure i can put it on my blog but just want to be sure.  I have worked on this layout over the week and finished Thursday night while watching Grey’s and got Richard to scan yesterday at work for me.

Wednesday saw us at the Dentist for David’s first ever appointment.  We thought this would be interesting as David really hasn’t liked us brushing his teeth or putting our fingers in his mouth with a cloth to wipe them.   Well, he was amazing for the Dental Nurse and now just loves his teeth being brushed….She suggested letting him play with his toothbrush in the bath and him and Richard make a game out of it.

The evenings and mornings here have been getting so cold so Thursday saw me heading out to get some winter pj’s, bath robe and slippers for david….I also couldn’t resist some cool little gumboots as he loves getting outside even when it is wet and thought as he is nearly walking these would be great for outside play.  Ended up finding this absolutly beautiful half pink dressing gown that is oh so soft and has hearts all over it for me….Just loving wearing it.

Friday my energy was zipped totally.  Got up yesterday morning and our DVS System said that it was 1C in the roof, it stayed between 1-3 for about 3 hours….

Today Richard has a full days work so we are treating it like a week day.  Have one of my best friend’s and her fiance coming over for Afternoon tea so will get baking this morning so we have some yummy food and also send them home with some stuff as their oven doesn’t work properly so they could everything on the stove top and electric frying pan…Went to bake yesterday morning as it was so cold and didn’t have enough ingredients so it was a trip to the supermarket when richard got home last night.

Well best be off.  I have a few things to do, then some baking and i am going to work on my entry for the Paper Pesto Design Team, excited about this and going to do the 2 layouts & 1 OTP from scratch.

Have a great Saturday and I will be back on this evening.

So Excited!

April 11, 2007

Yay, I am so excited.  I don’t know where the last month has gone but yay Freestyle starts tomorrow night.  I was orginally staying Friday night at the hotel with Janine M and sharing her room but she asked me the other day if i wanted to stay Saturday as well.  Originally i had discussed with Richard and he said just the one night but this morning he said it was fine to stay the Saturday as well.  Which will work out great as there is a Dinner organised and also I am as well as doing my classes on sunday acting as a TA in different classes which will be great.  So it is a boys weekend for Richard and David from mid Friday afternoon until late Sunday afternoon….it will be so great for them to have lots of one on one time together.  David also has been invited to his babysitters son’s 4th birthday on Sunday afternoon.  So I am off to buy a pressie and get a card made this afternoon.  It is also our neighbour’s daughter’s 3rd birhtday on Sunday so make that 2 presents to get and 2 cards to make.

This afternoon I also have 2 get the last of my supplies for the weekend along with packing and getting my tote bag ready and my homework as well.  Janine M and I are going to head in about 3pm and then hang out at the hotel until the crop at 7.30.  Will be fun.

Also a Big thank you to my secret Bunny from the SE forum, I love everything…i got some Easter Scrapbook Product and some yummy mini eggs.  Also a Big Thank you to Lynda M from the SE Forum for my page swap.  I have seen a sneak peak on her blog (not sure how to do links) and it looks great.  Looking out in the mail for it, can’t wait.

Also we got David’s ECG results back.  Weren’t sure if we would have to go back and somehow get another one as the one we got done wasn’t that readable becuase of David’s crying/screaming and moving around.  The results are that his ECG was fine and he has what the Specialist thought is a Innocent Flow Mumor (sorry for spelling) which is when they can actually hear the blood flowing through the heart area.

Well, must be off and do some housework before going out this afternoon.  Take care and i will update again in the morning with some photos this time.  Have to get them loaded up from the camera first.

Wow, i can’t believe it has been over a week since I last blogged.  Oh well, these things happen.  David is getting a lot better, unfortuantly has had a bit the runs but hopefully that is just about over.

Well, what has been happening in our household.  Last week both of my first 2 client’s scrapbooks were finished and completed and either picked up or sent off by courier.  Yay, what an accomplishment.  I now also have had 2 requests for further scrapbooks from another possible customer.  If all goes ahead it will be 2 Brag books for Grandparents,  A Milestones scrapbook from birth to age 5 and a matching scrapbook just for photos etc and possibly a gift book for the babie’s new daddy when bubs is born.  Wow, this will keep me busy.  Luckly bubs isn’t due until June.  I am in planning and costing and idea stages this weekend and then emailing off next week.  When we get back from our Family holiday I will be getting business cards and looking to set up website so if anyone knows of anyone good to do either of these things please let me know.

What else?  We took a drive up to Greenhithe last weekend and dropped some recipie swap cards off at Megan’s and then up to Manly to drop off some chillis and a 18 inch long and 4 kg Corgette and little ones along with Hannah’s Birthday pressie and RAK to Christi.

The last few days i have been trying to finish some CJ’s that I have here, do a Page Swap and also some pages for some challenges.  We also took david to the International Airport on Friday to get him used to how busy and noisy it is out there.  He knows the Domestic Airport well as he has flown back and forth to Wellington 4 times.  Yesterday we went out and picked up my Wedding Dress and flower girl dress that has been being dry cleaned and boxed up with archival tissue paper, got photos printed out for Freestyle at Harvey Normans and picked a few things up at Spotlight along with then the Grocery Shopping.

Yay, I can’t wait to go to Freestyle next weekend.  I am doing the crop and staying with Janine M at the hotel that night and doing classes Saturday and Sunday.  I may stay the night Saturday but not sure as of yet, waiting on some things Richard and David going to do to be confirmed.  Wow, what an amazing group of laddies that are being brought into teach us….I am so excited.  One of the photos I had to get printed was an 8 X 12 photo of myself, now if you know me you will know that i don’t really like having photos of myself taken but hey I am trying to step out of my comfort zone this year.

All going well this afternoon the 11 year old daughter of a good friend of mine is coming to stay for a few nights.  It will be great to have her around.  I have some Bunny ears here for David so will take a photo of him with them latter and post a pic.

I hope that everyone is having a great Easter and that the start of the school holidays go well.  I will post more pics latter and tomorrow of our trip out tomorrow.
